There are some phenomenal concerts on YouTube

It's really amazing what you can find on YouTube these days.

For example:

The Südtirol in Concert channel posts videos of classical music concerts from South Tyrol, Italy (where they speak Austrian German, apparently). The videography is great, the sound is excellent, and honestly, I just like looking at the architecture of the Baroque churches they often film in.

Here's one of my favorite performances from them: Händel's Alexander's Feast.

(Note: all the video links on this page go to a YouTube player I made that hides YouTube's obnoxious cruft and attempts to block tracking cookies.)

MarchVivo posts a huge variety of concerts and theatrical performances from the Juan March Foundation. Here are a few of my favorite videos from them:

You can find great music in surprising places, too. Here's a video of Peter Blanchette performing on his 11-string "archguitar" at some random church in Massachusetts.

If you're a classical music nerd, you'll probably like the very quirky Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. They talk about music on their channel more than they play it, but I enjoy hearing about historical instruments and musicians' perspectives on their work.

Finally, you probably already know about NPR's Tiny Desk concert series, but in case you don't, here's a link.

That's all for now!
