New on Culture Machine: "Nate from Lowell"

Published on

I'm trying out a new method for finding videos to put on Culture Machine:

  1. Click the "random article" button on Wikipedia.
  2. Paste the title of the article into YouTube's search.
  3. See what comes up.

I'm getting somewhat mixed results so far. But I did turn up LinDa Saphan's page, which led me to her short documentary "Nate from Lowell", about a collector trying to preserve pre-war Cambodian pop music.

Culture Machine is, above all else, a collection of videos that showcase the human spirit. "Nate from Lowell" not only fits into this collection perfectly, it captures the ethos of Culture Machine at the same same.
